NS Green party leaders resign over executive election riftI really don't know anything about it.
Puzzled when the new leader didn't run in the by-election that came up... I think he even happens to live there. His partner ran instead [one of the deputy leaders that quit].
Last year the PCs and the Liberals sat down to craft a new elections financing bill- trading off 'unique' features favouring each of them.
One of the non-unique features the struggling Liberals got was public funding for the parties. And as a clear gratuitous kick at the NDP, the two parties conferred official party status on the Greens- who have had zero impact here.
The tiny Green vote in NS provincial politics comes mostly at the expense of the NDP. But we'll have a number of close races and the seat totals between the government and the NDP will probably be close.
Whatever actually happens- the intent and hope of the PCs and Libs is clear.
I don't know when the public funding kicks in, but it's as close to an opportunity as the NS Greens could ever get.
They get no buzz from Liz May's presence. When she spoke at the party conference and "leadership vote" that got the media to come. And that's been it.
This bozo won with a few dozen votes- hardly the makings for the references in the story by the quiting leader to plots from 'failed candidates'.
