Now that it has already been purchased and wrapped and it is too late to do anything about it, I want to know whether The Breadwinner is a suitable book for a boy to get on his tenth birthday. It is supposed to have something to do with Afganistan.

Looks really good to me - and it says it's appropriate for ages 9-12, so I think you're okay on that one too.
