Demographically and statistically what has been commonly referred to as "mainline" denominations are at serious risk of drying up and blowing away. This former UCC minister has created a website encouraging members of the UCC and other mainline denominations to leave for more biblically adherent denominations. Leaving United

The UCC itself has itself considered Throwing in the Towel

While religious observer Ted Byfield provides further background with Bobble Head Jesus and the United Church

and, 60's Church Come Tumbling Down

If you're inclined to buy some unique real estate, keep your eyes open for defunct has-been mainline denomination buildings. Some are really quite nice with plenty of brick, stone, stained glass, etc. Some are small enough to convert to a house or and apartment flat, while many are designated historical buildings as well. Recently I've seen one turned into a coffee shop and antique store.

"Before the Mast" ... yea right.

Listen newbie, if you link to sites that provide links to other sites claiming that "Christians must maintain that the only affirmable place for the expression of sexual desire is an opposite sex marriage" then you are going to find yourself keel-hauled, babble-style, in short order. But perhaps I'm mistaken and this is just "an accident". Ha ha.

Queer-bash and you'll find yourself walking the plank. Stay away from that crap and you'll survive here. Good luck either way.

I'm just trying to figure out what the point of this OP really is. Seriously, a bunch of cobbled together articles from several months or more then a year ago with one that doesn't actually fit with the context it was given in. Doesn't actually even look like the poster has read the "Throwing in the Towel" article because that wasn't seriously being considered.

Recruiting for the first link maybe?
Some sort of beef with the percieved 'unchristianness' of the UCC? Oh wait, maybe that is it. That link actually says...you can help by posting this in blogs....

I think I get it now.

M. Spector you need to add anti-abortion to your warnings as well. I looked up the guy who runs the site in the first link.

This posting is crap and I think may run counter to babble policies on several accounts.

Hey, who doesn't need good real estate advice these days?
