Has anyone seen this movie? I just watched it and it blew my mind. A rather creative interpretation of poverty, labour and society.

If you've seen it Im interested in hearing peoples takes on the film. If you haven't seen it...you should.

I loved Dogville, the best film of this year so far. Superbly acted, brillantly conceived, and one of the most provocative and thought provoking films of recent years.

It's not for everyone, and it's far from a light-hearted romp; but it's a masterpiece that I would highly reccomend.

And this should probably be in 'Culture', but I can see why you put it in 'Labour and Consuption'.

Lars Von Trier is a genius. Dogville is definitely one of my top movies of the past few years.

Can you explain the connection without spoiling the movie for those of us who haven't seen it? Because otherwise I would like to move the thread to 'culture.'

I saw the movie as a critique of capitalism and labour. I have heard a whole bunch of ideas on the film though. I started a thread in culture so we can probably jettison this one.
