I wonder if he'll do anything with this huge majority, or if he'll turn into a dud of a reformer like Jacques Chantage did.

My French is pretty basic, but I think I get the jest of this article:

"Unanimous", the national office of the Socialist Party refuses a strategic alliance with the Democratic Movement.
