Elected MP (PASOK) for Athens B in the 2000 general election. Deputy Minister for Education and Religious Affairs from 24-10-2001 to 10-03-2004. Worked as a journalist on the newspaper “Kathimerini” under the editorship of Eleni Vlachou, and on the magazine Anti, edited by Theodoros Pangalos. She took part in broadcasts on Roussos Koundourou’s Channel 15, the first independent radio station. Studied acting at the Athens School of Drama and began a career in the theatre. Worked with almost every leading Greek actor, actress, and theatre director. Set up her own theatrical group with Diagoras Chronopoulos as director in 1992, and staged The Diary of Ann Frank and six other plays. She has played in many television serials.
Re-elected in 2004 when the socialist government was defeated. Born in Athens on 03-12-1958. I know, she's not as young as she looks, but when you go from 158 seats to 117 seats, you don't get many new MPs.
