So I met this guy at work and he appears to have (maybe) taken a shine to me. It's been almost a decade since I was in the dating game. How do these things develop? Will we continue to talk more and more? Will he ask me out for coffee after work? He doesn't actually work there but he's an independent contractor and drops in regularly to help. I just started working there and the people I work for are relatives of this guy. Dare I make enquiries? How can I let him know that I like him? It seems to me in the past that I've always had third parties do the legwork for me, exchanging phone numbers, etc. There really isn't an available third party in this case. Anyway, it's nice to have someone to think about and look forward to seeing again. I'm a terrible age-estimator but I'd guess he might be 10 years younger than me. This is a new and racy experience, being interested in a younger man.

Umm, its been a while for me also, but why not just relax, be yourself, send out good vibes, and be open to whatever happens. Perhaps force the issue slightly by suggesting coffee/lunch at the appropriate coffee/lunchbreak time?

Good luck..

ETA: BTW, I'm not he!

Hmmm, seems to be a thing going about age differences female to male, down there.

Was just at a wedding Labour Day weekend and the bride is 74 and the groom is 47. He is her trophy husband,

Know another couple out in the highlands area who just got engaged, she is 34 he is 21. And my daughter is also seeing a fellow almost 5 years her junior. And her father, my partner of 29 years, this month, is 4 years younger than I.

Good luck, take it slow, or take it fast, personally I believe you seize life experience as you come across it.

Thanks, you guys. I've always been attracted to men with skills. I'm too paranoid to say what he does for a living (like what are the odds he's a babbler???) but it's talented, honourable and ancient work. He just has a way about him. A good friend of mine requires his services and I gave her his number. When they set up an appointment, I'm planning on just showing up there (her house). I don't think I need a plausible reason. I'll be there because I like him and I know he's going to be there. I can't really ask him out myself because if I have misread the situation, it would be awkward for me at work, I think. Why do these happens at the most opportune moments? I have been spending too much time ruminating on my failed marriage and pondering my advanced age. Then, boom, this guy breezes into my life.

That's usually how it happens. When you least expect it and you're not looking for it.
