A few points:1. I agree completely with remind. There's nothing funny about any workers being harassed and assaulted on the job. Female flight attendants are particularly vulnerable for a host of reasons. 2. I believe Continental flight attendants are unionized with the IAM&AW. Where is the union in this whole piece? They're the ones who should be progressing and financing any legal action on her behalf. It's possible they investigated and decided not to, but I'd like to hear that side of the story. 3. The worker says her faith was affected by the attack. I don't want to hear any cracks here about the need for a faith-saving settlement.

There is comedy in many things, though not in all things. Ridiculing the worker for filing a complaint against the televangelist isn't where it can be found in this story. But, that didn't happen, no one joked about the action she took against her assailant. You third point is very humorous but Remind may find it offensive as it can be literally read as a threat against those who would mock religion.

People make jokes about bad things all of the time. I remember a few days after the Challenger blew up in 1986 (the space shuttle with the teacher, Christa McAuliffe, on board), someone said: "Did you hear that they recovered the 'black box' from the shuttle wreckage?? The last thing recorded about three seconds before the explosion was McAuliffe asking, 'Hey, what's this button for?'" But, I guess we should be somber and long-faced about every piece of serious news (even though that would be the end of careers for many social commentators). That would certainly be for the best.
