As I understand it, the RICO suit has been dismissed, and those parts of the suits which do not allege "racketeering" were dismissed "without prejudice", which means they can be re-instated in a non-RICO court.

From what I've heard and read, Jeff is correct. Moreover, it seems that filing the suit under RICO laws was always seen as a bit of a risky gambit. It was done in order to triple the limit on damages that could be claimed. In other words, Black is hardly off the hook. He'll just have to defend a "normal" fraud lawsuit.

Are RICO courts harder to get a conviction in, than a non-RICO court?
