I know this is really early, but in the summer I start wishing it was winter....and my thoughts usually go towards the holidays.

So what do you all want for the holidays? If not for the holidays, just presents for "Random-gift-giving holiday". It can be anything you want.

I'll be back soon with my list

Magazine subscriptions! Don't want clothes because I want to buy my own. Don't need much for around the house except for stuff that's too expensive for Christmas gifts.

But I'd love to get magazine subscriptions. Let's see, just off the top of my head:

This Magazine
Frank
Harpers
The New Yorker
Taste of Home (great country recipes! shut up!)
Any Canadian magazine with a subject that might interest me (please, not Maclones though!)

There were others that I like too, but I forget now. Put me in front of a magazine rack and I'll find ten more.

P.S. Just noticed this is in banter. I think I'm going to move it to Earning and Spending since it fits better there.

A new monitor. This one has just lapsed into a bilious greenish colour. All your posts look seasick.

beluga, do what I did before condemning your monitor, thanks to the advice of some friends here. Clean your tower and check that your video card is in place properly. Check your monitor settings to make sure that one of those has not been accidently adjusted. Another thing it could be is your cord that attaches your monitor to your computer. If these things check out, then the problem, like mine, will be the monitor itself.

Most towns have places where you can get a decent used monitor for about $50.

Thanks, Trish. My monitor seems to have fixed itself anyway. Maybe I just need to threaten it every now and then to keep it in line.
