This is from a blog on the Green Party website; of one Matt Casselman, who is some kind of Party functionary or candidate.
The truth came out in a panel discussion. From the horse's mouth:
quote: I had answered a question on factory workers and factories moving to Mexico and they all thought I said Canadian workers should be happy to work for minimum wage." however what I said was "If factory workers go on strike, jobs that would've been there in 20 years won't be because they'll be hiring Mexicans to do the work for a fraction of the cost."
I wasn't present during the debate so I couldn't of corrected them on there mistake.

Those kind of comments don't surprise me. The Green Party likes to strike a populist pose but at the same time has a lot of trouble recognizing the popular heritage of the labour movement.
That's what happens when you try to put environmentalists, libertarians, and rejects from other parties into the same tent. Never count on the Greens to side with workers, or for that matter, to make sense.

I'm not sure he's saying what you're claiming he's saying.
I don't see him saying he supports scabs. I see him saying that if the factory workers in question go on strike and the owners move the factory to Mexico, the owners will get the same work for a fraction of the price from Mexicans.
Did he say he supports the employer in doing this? Or is he saying that he thinks this is what's going to happen? Predicting that an employer will union-bust is not the same thing as supporting scabs.
