UFCW has some call centres organized in Winnipeg, and the CN call centre there is with CAW. From what I understand, there are some out east with the Steelworkers, oddly enough.

I think theres a difference in organizing patterns between outbound call centres (the survey/market research companies) and the inbound centres (like the CN callcentre, or various other corporate inbound info-line type of stuff). The outbounds tend to be less organized, and have a more contingent workforce (not sure which causes which, though). From what I've seen, the inbounds tend to to be organized if their parent companies are, and often with their respective union.

If you or someone you know is looking to organize in Nova Scotia, you might want to contact the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour. They may be able to give you more specific advice about which of its affiliates are organizing both in your industry and your area.
