Schroeder bows to Warsaw heroes

This is what a twenty first century Europe envisions. I'm happy that EU is finally bringing peace to at least one part of the world. We need continental frameworks like the EU in ravaged Africa and the fractured Asia to resolve long term ememities netween sovereign states. Good for Schröder. (Never thought I'd say that - he's been being such a Blairite pig to trades unions and pensioners ) He is repeating the gesture of the late SPD Chancellor Willy Brandt, who, although he was an anti-nazi refugee during the war, kneeled before the monument to the Warsaw ghetto uprising - a year before the other - both were crushed without mercy, of course.
