The reason the White House uses outside e-mail accounts to keep in touch is so that it stays unsubstantiated.
If you're aware, even peripherally, of what was going in the rest of the administration, nothing should surprise you.
"Unsubstantiated" means you don't get to press charges.
But will anyone ever entrust their sons and daughters to the military again?
"Were the charges around the Tillman case ever substantiated?"
"No."
"Well then, send Billy and Martha off to join the Army!"
