What's going on here?

Obama is still in the lead but according to the recent polls and the intrade markets it looks like McCain is beginning to close the gap.

Have the Democrats erred in their choice for president?

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows the race for the White House is tied with Barack Obama and John McCain each attracting 44% of the vote. However, when "leaners" are included, it’s McCain 47% and Obama 46%.

This is the first time McCain has enjoyed even a statistically insignificant advantage of any sort since Obama clinched the Democratic nomination on June 3

Hmm. If they stay tied McCain will certainly win, since all the black-box vote fixing is still in place.

Meanwhile the Gallup daily tracking poll has Obama ahead by three points.

Pick which one you want to believe.

Real Clear Politics plot the averages of several different polls on charts, which are usually the most accurate assessment of what is happening. the RCP charts show the gap narrowing between the two front runners for president.

Canadians seem to think attack ads work.

quote:
Good campaigning 1569 votes (41 %)

Effective attack ads 2250 votes (59 %)

Total Votes: 3819

John McCain is nudging up in the polls in the race against Barack Obama. Why?
