I would like one of Babble's administrators to publicly explain the decision to close / lock this topic after this one response was posted -

"Are you making unsubstantiated accusations against CUPE and alleging that they are behind this unrelated student union's mismanagement of funds? What does this have to do with labour?
Take your union smear elsewhere."

Perhaps that explanation should include a clarification of the forum's policy regarding censorship.

Get off your high horse. Censorship! What a pathetic laugh.

quote:
Not mentioned in this article, but related privately to me, is the possibility of at least one connection to CUPE.

That is filthy gossip, innuendo, about along these lines:

You won't find any evidence that gbuddy is connected with the international slave trade. Not in print, anyway. That's all I can say for now.

Besides your filthy comment about CUPE, there is also the fact that the Douglas Student Union issue is now before the courts.

I am not a babble administrator. I'm just exercising my free speech! Sorry for not being diplomatic, but I am honestly and sincerely trying to protect your well-being by helping you dismount from a very high horse before you break something.

Filthy gossip and innuendo is not allowed to target CUPE. Steve and Dubya are OK though.

If filthy gossip and innuendo were allowed to be targetted at CUPE,where would it end? Jimmy Hoffa being labelled a crook? Sid Ryan a kook? A travesty, travesty I say.

Just because this alleged scandal made the national news is no reason to discuss it.Merely an accounting or rounding error,no doubt. What should be foremost in everyone's mind is Rona's hair, not union financial malfeasance, student or otherwise.

I would say that no organization, business, government, religion should be beyond criticism. However, one has to back up any allegations they post.

We are progressive, pro-union and what have you, but there should be no sacred cows. Only backed up arguments and allegations.

A) The thread title, like this one, was useless when it comes to knowing what the thread is about.
B) You were smearing a union with baseless innuendo in the labour forum of a progressive board.

Both good enough reasons for me to close the thread. Maybe you were under the impression that the Labour forum on babble was a "trash unions from a right-wing point of view" kind of place. You are sadly mistaken.

P.S. Threads complaining about stuff that happens on rabble and babble belong in rabble reactions, not the labour forum.
