I just learned of Lanie's death by reading yesterday's Globe. Glad to see they published a long piece about her life.

Lanie was a Montreal Ragging Granny, breast cancer activist, peace activist, social worker, and teacher. In case all that doesn't tip you off, she was a great feminist as well.

This is quite old news since she passed away more than two months ago. I barely knew her, but everyday we are losing inspirational feminists like her, so I thought she deserves recognition here on babble.

The Raging Granny, Lanie sounds like she was a wonderful woman. Wish I could have met her. Here's a toast to her and all those people who loved her.
