I am no financial wizard so I want to plumb the wellspring of knowledge that is available on this site and find out more about credit, credit ratings, etc.

Specifically, last year I remember hearing a program on CBC which indicated that France may be doing away with credit ratings or something like that. So if anyone has more information, I would love to hear it. This program seemed to stem from a rather horrible incident in the UK, in which an elderly couple died after their gas was turned off in the middle of winter. Apparently, they had never missed a payment since 1945. They missed one and the gas company shut off their supply!

I'd be happy to send you my bank statements, credit card bills and copies of my tax assessments. Please send me your address, and I'll forward them right to you.

Hinterland, I am not too sure why you said this. I am definitely not interested in anyone's personal information so let's nix that idea here and now! I am such a financial klutz that it wouldn,t mean anything to me anyhow!

I want to find out about this move by the French government. Do you know anything about it?

Here's where you can see what a credit report looks like and what's contained in it:

No. You might get a better response if you ask the French Government. I'm sure they're in a better position to answer such questions.
