I'm looking for an online story, since I only heard it on the news this morning, but apparently China is banning poultry exports from the US because of this discovery of infected poultry in Delaware.

quote: European Health Commissioner David Byrne on Tuesday played down the likelihood of a European Union ban on US poultry imports after an outbreak of bird flu on a farm in Delaware.
The Irish member of the EU executive said the outbreak appeared to be different to the virulent strain of bird flu afflicting Asia, which has prompted the EU to ban poultry imports from Thailand, but that the EU was closely monitoring it.
"It is believed but not yet confirmed that this (US) virus is a low pathogenic virus and therefore would not require the same degree of response as for the Asian avian influenza from Thailand," Byrne told the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
Strangely, I can't find any reference to the bird flu in the US on WHO's webpage. And no, that is not the David Byrne.
