Taslima Nasrin is an internationally known feminist writer from Bangladesh. Living in exile since 1994, she has become one of the Muslim world’s most vociferous dissidents. Her ammunition is language, so much so that Nasrin invented the word “meyebela” — girlhood — because while Bengali assigns a word for boys’ lives, it ignores those of girls.
