I thought babble could use an alien/UFO thread!

quote:
Dr Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics claimed Roswell was real and similar alien visits continue to be investigated.

He told the astonished Kerrang! radio host Nick Margerrison: "This is really starting to open up. I think we're headed for real disclosure and some serious organisations are moving in that direction."

Mr Margerrison said: "I thought I'd stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there's no debating it."

Officials from NASA, however, were quick to play the comments down.

In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.

'Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.'

Three other western countries have released what they collected on UFO sightings over several decades. Brits said that if it wasn't a Soviet aircraft, they dropped the matter entirely.

Yes I remember that release - there were a certain percentage that were still inexplicable.

There is this casefrom not from from my house as well:

quote:
At one point, Ford-Quigley and her husband Tony noticed the strange object dip into a cloud.

“It started to smoke once it got through the cloud, almost like a piece of the back end came apart from the front end. It looked like it broke into two. And after that, a tremendous smoke trail coming from behind it,” said Ford-Quigley, 46.

The pair, who took video of what they saw, called the police and the airport, but nobody seemed to know anything about it.

“We don’t know what it was,” she said. “We really thought it was man-made.”

The case has stumped Ufologists too.

Of the 836 cases that were reported last year, Ford-Quigley’s case is one of a handful that are considered “high-quality unknowns,” said Chris Rutkowski, director of the Winnipeg-based Ufology Research institute, who calls the case “ very, very strange.”

Has the U.S. government ever lied to Americans before?

Wright Patterson Airforce base is supposedly where sixteen of the "extraterrestrial biological entities" from the Roswell crash were taken to and stored. One of the sixteen or so EBE's was apparently alive for a year or two. This is the other dreamland, complete with underground steel reinforced concrete tunnels and huge storage vaults guarded by some pretty serious military types. Barry Goldwater allegedly sought access to Wright Patterson's secret hangars and was told by a Wright Airforce General never mention the subject to him again as long as they both lived.

I'll be in Ottawa tomorrow evening. And I won't be looking for you, that's for sure. ha!

No seriously, this is pretty weird stuff coming from the mouths of people with impressive credentials, some of who've worked for U.S. feds, and dozens of them have offered to give sworn testimonies of what they know before Congress.

Some people who also hold impressive credentials have asked for physical evidence of UFO's and contact with EBE/ET. But they neglect to mention the eye witness accounts, and the myriad photographic evidence itself. And then there's recorded radar evidence to corroborate what more than one person said they saw at specific times and places and doing things that even extreme military aircraft wouldn't be capable of.

I wonder if they even use money out there? I can't remember if Cap'n Kirk ever used a Federation charge card for those new dilitheum crystals every so many light years or no?

Picard tries to explain to Ralph Offenhouse from the 20th century that there would be no need for his law firm any longer: "A lot has changed in three hundred years. People are no longer obsessed with the accumulation of 'things'. We have eliminated hunger, want, the need for possessions." (TNG: "The Neutral Zone")

For Trekkies, the future is socialism-communism. They've been a bunch of underground Marxist-Leninists all along? For them, the future eliminates hunger, want, and private property laws, too, apparently.
