John de Mol, the man who unleashed the dreadful Big Brother series upon the world, has come up with another "brilliant" idea: Big Brother for Bullies. I haven't been able to find an English link to support it, but here's some of the Dutch article, translated by yours truly: quote:
John de Mol has developed a show for his tv-station Talpa, in which a group of people will be secluded in a villa for a year. They'll be placed there with the sole intention to tease, harass and annoy eachother. The biggest bully remaining at the end of the show receives a villa and a large ammmount of money. Once a suitable villa is found, the shooting of "The Golden Cage" can start and be televised by his own station, Talpa.Politicians in The Hague have already pronounced their disapprovement of the plans, calling it "the next step towards tastelessness" and asking "where's the limit for mr. De Mol?". They fear, that if aired at prime time, lots of 11 or 12 year olds will be exposed to this negative behaviour. It might teach them that hurting and harassing others is a profitable business. Because this is a free country, De Mol is free to air this kind of programs and it's people's own choice to watch it or not. One of the politicians called mr. De Mol "the market leader in exploiting the worst qualities in human beings"
Posted just to warn you people. So that if some of this crap actually blows over to your side of the Atlantic, you people aren't caught unaware..!
Guess what's next?! Big Brother for Mass Murderers!
