Absolutely abhorrent. It brings to mind a movie I just saw the other night on TV called "The Matthew Shepard Story". I rarely cry but that movie moved me to tears.

Agree with Michelle. There is a huge gap in social attitudes between Canada and the US. Not to be complacent, but the US ranks with far less "developed" countries in surveys of social attitudes. And even Alberta comes out more progressive than, say, Massachusetts!
