A well known jazz musician who is black but light skinned and can "pass" for white, claims that he met Sarah Palin in 1990 and she flirted with him (despite being married and pregnant) until his darker skinned bandmates arrived.

Palin's racist remark

quote:
This internationally renowned jazz musician recently utilized the National Press Club in Washington, DC to recount a flirtatious encounter he had in Alaska with a woman who identified herself as Sarah Heath.

Royal said this encounter ended after a racist remark by the woman now known as Gov Sarah Palin.

Making that racist remark, Royal contends, coupled with Gov Palin’s disengaged relations with racial minorities in Alaska speaks volumes about her character.

“When you view what happened with me in the context with what is happening with blacks and other minorities in Alaska under Gov Palin, it is clear that what I encountered was not a fluke. It shows her character,” Royal said during an interview hours after that press conference in DC where he directs the American Youth Symphony, Inc.

While that racist remark reflects character, Royal said, the flirtation by a woman who did not reveal at the time that she was both married and pregnant speaks to “mortality and fidelity.”

Royal said that in 1990, when performing with the Duke Ellington Band in Anchorage, the trombonist struck up a conversation with a woman at a fast food restaurant who initially identified herself as Sarah. During that conversation, Sarah volunteered that her last name was Heath, Royal said, after he mentioned the acclaimed jazz musician Percy Heath. Palin’s maiden name is Heath.

Royal said the conversation went smoothly until some of his fellow Band members came over to the table. Sarah’s entire demeanor changed.

While Royal is a light skin black man sometimes mistaken as white by whites, his fellow jazzmen causing Heath’s attitude shift were dark skin.

“You could see it…the body language. There was a visceral reaction,” said Royal who asked Sarah if something was wrong.

According to Royal, Heath’s response to his inquiry was, “Excuse me, but I don’t mess with black men.”

Royal said he told Heath, “I’m a black man” and Sarah responded, “But, you’re not really black.”

This isn't the first story that's come out that has people recounting racist remarks she's made in the past. Unfortunately it's a he said, she said kind of thing so not really that useful politically it's to easily dismissed as just another 'liberal' smear job and lying.

I think right now her comments in the Fox 'interviews' and her stump speeches are good enough indication of how she actually feels. To use a term that's been posted before they're full of 'dog whistles'. Things like "I just don't trust him, terrorism', 'murky associations' references to 'Chicago Politics', 'scary' 'doesn't like America' and the ongoing emphasis on using his middle name at her and McCain's rallies.

Right now I get the feeling that people who would care about this already aren't voting for them anyways. This coming out in a big way isn't likely to sway people anymore then all the other crap coming out of their mouths already is.

they fucked up the name, but Wikki confirms some of this

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregory_Charles_Royal

Gregory Charles Royal (born October 10, 1961 in Greensboro, North Carolina) is an American musician and author, and a judge on America's Hot Musician

Prior to becoming a judge on America's Hot Musician, Royal, a jazz trombonist, enjoyed a long career with many top bands and shows. They include the Duke Ellington Orchestra (1989-1999), Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Slide Hampton and his World of Trombones and as onstage trombonist with the Broadway show Five Guys Named Moe (nominated for two Tony Awards) and Jelly's Last Jam.

Oh well, came in second

True. There's a lot of evidence that she's at least racially insensitive, if not racist. Though to be fair to Palin, her husband is part Inuit, apparently. But he looks pretty white. Though mistaking Royal as white, I dunno. I mean yeah, he's obviously mixed, but I don't really think he could "pass." But you know, I could imagine her saying something like that so this is yet another example of how much of an idiot Palin is.

In any case Obama has tried to minimize race as an issue, because whenever it becomes the dominant theme of the news cycle (other than his speech in Philadelphia) his campaign suffers. The Republicans have no credibility on the economy, so even if there was more evidence that she said this there'd be little point in flogging it to death.

But you know, I remember reading somewhere that there are people who when canvassed call Obama the n-word but then say they're undecided because they're so worried about the economy! I don't really know what else to say about that, but still pretty fucking weird.

I think that there is an interesting problem here. Since most Americans don't want to talk about racism, never mind understand it, it is difficult for anyone to point out racist behavior by people like Palin or McCain because unless Palin and McCain ride into a debate on live TV on a horse wearing bedsheets holding a noose and a burning cross and shouting the n-word, anyone who calls them on their racism will be accused of "playing the race card". This whole "race card" thing is a pretty ridiculous concept to begin with.

Exhibit A: this clown's homepage

Hey, that's an educational site. You will find all sorts of facts there, like the following;

U.S. Dept. of Justice Website:

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/crimoff.htm

Quote:
Based on current rates of first incarceration, an estimated 32% of black males will enter State or Federal prison during their lifetime, compared to 17% of Hispanic males and 5.9% of white males.

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/prisons.htm

Quote:
At midyear 2007 there were 4,618 black male sentenced prisoners per 100,000 black males in the United States, compared to 1,747 Hispanic male sentenced prisoners per 100,000 Hispanic males and 773 white male sentenced prisoners per 100,000 white males.

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/homicide/race.htm

In 2005, Homicide offending rates for blacks were more than 7 times higher than the rates for whites

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/abstract/llgsfp.htm

Quote:
Lifetime Likelihood of Going to State or Federal Prison
This Special Report presents lifetime chances of going to State or Federal prison by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin. Using standard demographic lifetable techniques, and assuming that recent incarceration rates remain unchanged, an estimated 1 of every 20 persons (5%) can be expected to serve time in prison during their lifetime. The lifetime chances of a person going to prison are higher for men (9%) than for women (1%) and higher for blacks (16%) and Hispanics (9%) than for whites (2%). At current levels of incarceration newborn black males in this country have a greater than a 1 in 4 chance of going to prison during their lifetimes, while Hispanic males have a 1 in 6 chance, and white males have a 1 in 23 chance of serving time. 3/97 NCJ 160092

The US Dept. of Justice Website also reports that in England and Wales, blacks are 2% of the population, but 11% of inmates:

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/ascii/walesus.txt

Quote:
In England and Wales the inmate population was
predominantly white (82%), with blacks
representing 11% and Asians 4%. Blacks and Asians
were about 5% of all adults in the general
population and 15% of all inmates. Specifically,
blacks represented about 2% of the adult general
population and 11% of the inmate population.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CNN:

http://money.cnn.com/magazines/money...8911/index.htm

Quote:
THE FACTS Blacks, who represent just 12.5% of the U.S. population, account for a disproportionate share of violent crime. Still, the fact remains that whites commit more such crimes -- 54% vs. 45% for blacks, (even though niggers are 12.5% of the population) according to FBI arrest statistics. The numbers also vary widely depending on the crime, with blacks responsible for more murders and robberies (55% and 61% of these crimes, respectively) and whites committing more rapes and aggravated assaults (56% and 60%).

Quote:
The bottom line: While a white person is far more likely to be victimized by a black than the other way around (21% vs. 7%), the chances are three times as great that a white person will be victimized by another white than by a black. The exception here is robbery. Whites are held up by blacks 49% of the time and by whites only 37%. Still, though violent crime is predominantly white on white or black on black, it is also true that black criminals commit more crimes against white victims (nearly 1.1 million in 1992) than they do against blacks (just under 1 million).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slate.com:

http://www.slate.com/id/33569/entry/33575/

Quote:
As you note, African-Americans have three times the abortion rate of whites. You don't mention, however, that, as Janet Reno's Justice Department flatly states that "blacks are 8 times more likely than whites to commit homicide." Therefore, blacks commit more murders than whites in total as well as per capita.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Washington Post:

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-...d_for_e_1.html

Quote:
Everybody acknowledges that incarceration rates among young black males are much higher than among whites or Hispanics. An August 2003 Bureau of Justice Statistics analysis shows that 32 percent of black males born in 2001 can expect to spend time in prison over the course of their lifetime. That is up from 13.4 percent in 1974 and 29.4 percent in 1991. By contrast, 17.2 percent of Hispanics and 5.9 percent of whites born in 2001 are likely to end up in prison.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pat Buchanan:

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=57250
http://buchanan.org/blog/?p=826

Quote:
in "The Color of Crime: Race, Crime and Justice in America," produced by the "right-leaning" New Century Foundation in 2005, using the same FBI and Justice surveys, startling facts emerge:

"Blacks commit more violent crime against whites than against other blacks." Forty-five percent of the victims of violent crime by blacks are white folks, 43 percent are black, 10 percent are Hispanic.

Blacks are seven times as likely as people of other races to commit murder, eight times more likely to commit robbery and three times more likely to use a gun in a crime.

"Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit violent crime against a white person than vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit robbery." (If decent black folks have trouble hailing a cab, and they do, these numbers may help explain it.)

Black-on-white rape is 115 times more common than the reverse.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.city-journal.org/html/eon2007-04-02hm.html

Quote:
'Though blacks, 24 percent of New York Citys population, committed 68.5 percent of all murders, rapes, robberies, and assaults in the city last year, according to victims and witnesses, they were only 55 percent of all stop-and-frisks.

You know, Bertuzzi really belongs with the Flames. They are both blights on the league. As if anyone needed another reason to hate the Flames (besides their awful team colours, their lack of imagination in naming the team, the "C of Red (which is actually black)", their stupid flags on the shoulders, and their dull, dull, cop infested "party" street), they bring that goon to town.

The Flames just kept the name and colours of the Atlanta Flames, but yes, Bertootsi is an embarassment to any team.

Back in '88 while I was living among righands in Brooks, Alta. (Flames country) I heard this joke:

Glen Sather was trying to psyche up the Oilers before a particular game, so he thought he'd give them a demonstration of toughness.

He gathered the team around himself in the dressing room and pulled a turtle out of Jari Kurri's hockey bag. He told the team, "Boys, if you can do this, you're a real man, and worthy of wearing the Oilers' colours."

To the shock and awe of the team, Sather dropped his drawers, pulled out his oily little dipstick, and let the turtle bite onto it. After a few minutes, during which Sather was demonstrably in agony, he poked the turtle in the eye, whereby the beast let go.

Sather then addressed the team, asking for someone else to do the same.

Ever the leader, and the personification of all things Edmonton, Captain Wayne Gretzky spoke up and said, "OK coach, I'll go next, but please don't poke me in the eye."

The vast majority of American rape victims never report their assaults.Of those rapes that are reported many do not go to trial, or are plead down to a lesser charge. DOJ stats to not count these assaults into their statistics, only convictions.
We cannot extrapolate from these stats the likely hood of a white woman being raped by a white or black man, but we can observe that black men are more likely to be pursued and prosecuted.

I read both "negroes" and "niggers" in this thread, which leads me to ask WHAT THE FUCK!!!
