The generally conservative US News and World Report has an insight into the President:

quote:
Animal House in the West Wing

He loves to cuss, gets a jolly when a mountain biker wipes out trying to keep up with him, and now we're learning that the first frat boy loves flatulence jokes. A top insider let that slip when explaining why President Bush is paranoid around women, always worried about his behavior. But he's still a funny, earthy guy who, for example, can't get enough of fart jokes. He's also known to cut a few for laughs, especially when greeting new young aides, but forget about getting people to gas about that.

I know Hitler liked dogs and children and was particularly sensitive around women but history is silent on his fondness for flatulence.

I think he and Georgie would have got on well.

Probably every bit as well as George's grandfather, Prescott Bush, got along with Hitler.

Who doesn't enjoy a good room-clearing fart?

I'm telling you, when you can't fart in a crowded room, the terrists have won.

edit: adurrr.

While the quirky attributes of the famous are often funny and good for party anecdotes, I can see this appearing on left-wing blogs all over the place in the coming weeks, distracting once again from real, important issues regarding policy.

I believe bush's 'dumb' exterior has really helped to shield him legitimate criticism, because it's so much easier to ridicule him for being Curious George bush, instead of being 'horrible for domestic and foreign policy while instituting future-bankrupting economic policies' bush.
