Juvenile Court to handle sodomy charge

quote:
A Russell County High School student faces a charge of second-degree sodomy after an alleged involvement with a younger female student from the school. School officials say they have found no evidence any sexual misconduct occurred on the school campus.

quote:
"I've been trying to get teachers to keep them apart," said the mother, whose identity is being withheld to protect the child. "The principal, teachers and superintendent knew about this. After formal charges were made, the investigator, Grover Goodrich, told these people they had to keep these girls apart."

quote:
She said her daughter is "angry and confused" and going through therapy but is getting better.

Disturbing. Years from now, while discussing her first love with the prison physiologist, she will hopefully realize the scars from the post relationship counseling were inflicted by her parents out of love and ignorance. At that point, she may forgive them. I hope so.

As a heterosexual male hillbilly Canadian, I of course, have a rant to address gay people in general:

Some people are gay, most people are not.
Of the people who are, that isn’t all they are.

They’re doctors, Lawyers, garbage truck drivers, dog owners, and anything else you can think of.
Therefor, being gay isn’t a dark, wicked, shameful thing, like being a Redwings fan. Ok, so I’m sure some gay people are Redwings fans, but they’re probably a minority. So we shouldn’t persecute a whole segment of the population for the immorality of so few ….

Later, eh …

Boy that girl will have a huge struggle coming to terms with her mother and now thanks to her mother, her sexuality.

Kudos to the school though for their stance.

Huh, what's "second-degree sodomy"? And it's weird that they would charge the girls with sodomy, which is more associated anal sex. Then again, the state probably doesn't discriminate with its discrimination.

Not pre-meditated, like where it's committed in the heat of the moment, without giving it much thought.

Definitions of Sodomy on the Web:

quote:
Often simply refers to anal sex; however, the actual dictionary definition includes anything considered "unnatural or deviate sexual intercourse" which may include everything from oral sex to sex between partners of the same gender.

That's that weird southern US use of the verb "deviate" in place of the called-for adjective "deviant". I looked it up once; that's in fact what the text of the law says.

So the penalty for perfoming a 'same-sex' act is to be confined to a a same-sex institution where the only sexual outlet is same-sex sex ? Hmmm,

I am sure that the guardians of right wing christian morality would put them in solitary if they thought they could prevent them from masturbating.
