I have bought 2 of the 3 books and am starting to read them ( the 3rd book is on back order), can any one give me a review? The first few chapters are an eye-opener. The books are written by Marilyn French. We all get to study his-story and now I am , for the first time, getting an account of her-story, not a progression from one war to the next. More like a building of culture, and how it expands. Just my take and I have a lot more reading to do. Has anyone here read the books, and your take on them?

The first few chapters of the first book, in a bookstore. I thought it was interesting, but I think I read her writing a very similar story in another much older book. I think the story has some holes in it, but that's a can of worms I'm trying to avoid opening now, having had much experience with it in the past.

Mandos, I have to wonder if, having read a couple of chapters from the first of three rather large books you were able to come to that sort of conclusion? Never mind, I really don't think I want to know.

I think that her Genesis story has holes in it, not the rest of it, on which I am obviously not passing judgement. She's told this particular Genesis story before. Mind you, it's been a couple of years; but I am quite interested in this sort of thing.

IIRC she begins with a discussion of the origins of patriarchy.

An invaluable source of wisdom and knowledge about feminism, particularly about feminism's complete failure to deal honestly with human sexuality is found in Sexual Personae, by Camille Paglia. No intelligent discussion of feminism can ignore Paglia's contribution.
