CBC: Migrant workers at a farm in Portage La Prairie have agreed to a three-year collective agreement, the first of its kind for migrant workers in Canada....

The new agreement, signed June 20, includes wage increases in each year of the collective agreement, with the first increase retroactive to April 21. It also provides the workers with recall rights, a grievance procedure and a new system for allocating overtime pay.

You can't scare me, I'm sticking with the union!

After what happened in B.C. to the Seli workers, more proof Beltov of the wisdom of your choice of province!

People have been asking me what possessed me to move to this mosquito-infested, canker-worm dripping, frozen tundra of a province for 25 years. Initially, I told 'em that I was a political refugee from B.C. That seemed to shut them up.

Nowadays, I mostly quote Humphrey Bogart and make reference to "the waters".

Incredulous questioner: "What waters? Winnipeg is a semi-desert!"

Me: "I was misinformed."
