War Resisters Benefit at the Beansprout! Friday October 24, 2008
Doors Open 8:00pm
The Beansprout—Bloor Lansdowne Christian Fellowship
1307 Lansdowne and Bloor Street
Come out to a benefit concert in support of Iraq war resisters. Despite a June 3, 2008, vote in Parliament for a motion allowing Iraq war resisters to stay in Canada, Harper refuses to implement this motion.
Currently, war resisters are fighting deportation orders. If they are sent back to the US, they face charges for desertions, jail time and felony convictions. The latest resister to face a deportation order is Patrick Hart and his family, who have been ordered out of the country by October 30th.
Please help support Hart’s family and the War Resister Support Campaign by attending this benefit to hear great tunes and learn more… and hear great tunes.
