Would Mel Gibson be, like other movie stars, say John Travolta or Tom Cruise, yet another closet case?

Yvon! Quick!

Go to tinyurl.com and run that long URL through it, in order to eliminate the sidescroll. Do it by editing your introductory post, please.

I did what you said, shortened the 111-character URL into a 24-character one but the sidescroll was not eliminated.
Please do the rest for this is Chinese to me.

YVON!

Use the URL button on the bottom of the page. Copy and Paste the URL into the first command box, when it asks you for a URL name...PUT SOMETHING IN!

She can't. You have to edit your original post to remove the long link. Use this button: above your opening post.

Sidescroll aside, didn't Audra already tell you in another thread that the "closet homo" insult is not appropriate?

Maybe he's a closet Scientologist.

If there is such a thing.

Well, Australia is a gay old place, and Mel did spend a lot of his youth here. Judge for yourself:

I can't tell what your angle is here, Yvon. Are you outraged that Mel Gibson would be ashamed of a gay kiss? Or are you outraged that Mel might actually be gay and has been hiding it all this time? It seems like you're accusing him of something, but I can't tell what it is.

I'm trying Yvon, but you're not giving me much to work with!

Yeah, when actors portray something in their professional lives, it's clearly because they're repressing it in their personal lives. Hence, Anthony Hopkins is a closet cannibalistic psycho and Ian McKellan is a wizard, but hasn't yet had the bottle to come out and claim his identity publicly. Robin Williams was actually hatched on Planet Ork.

Happy to be of service, ma'am.

This "Actor X played a gay guy, therefore must be gay" is a pet bugaboo of mine. They're ACT. ORS. They ACT*. Sheesh.

*Or make public statements on behalf of Scientology.

Myself, I'm more impressed when a str8 guy plays a gay character and manages to do it without going way over the top and veering into parody.

Jeff Daniels in The Hours comes most immediately to mind... or even Russell Crowe in The Sum of Us.

I remember when The Sum of Us came out (har har) the press was all over Russell Crowe, saying how brave he was to take on such a role. Funny, I don't recall such a thing being said when he played a violent, racist skinhead in Romper Stomper around the same time. A Real Man playing a gay boy raises more eyebrows, apparently, than playing a foaming-at-the-mouth sociopath.

Heh, yes, cue rooolly hot chick wearing a $10 000 designer sling shot to walk down the red carpet with. Just to show that, y'know, it was just acting, like.

Sorry, but you're behind in the news: Anthony Hopkins has recently cum out of his closet, which is what all the Tom Cruises and, if the case may be, Mel Gibsons should do.
The closet is not a nice place to be or spend one's life!

Its up to them, not you how they spend their life.

And I sincerely doubt mel is a closet homosexual.

Might be a wannabe woman tho, from his "What Women Want" film

And what proof do you have about hopkins? I find nothing by googling him that shows him to be gay?

What hair is up yer ass Yvon? First religious witchhunts now this?
