Telegraph (UK): quote: Paintings of traditional wedding scenes have been removed from a register office in case they offend gay couples, it has emerged. The pictures at Liverpool Register Office are being replaced with landscapes ahead of the introduction of "gay weddings" later this year. Register officer Janet Taubman said the new paintings were less likely to offend. She told the Liverpool Daily Post: "We had two pictures up before. In one room there is a picture of a signing of the register with a young bride. "The other was of a Romeo and Juliet on a swing. They were innocent pictures but the new paintings are less likely to offend."
So, am I a touchy old 'mo to note with some interest that the other obvious 'solution' -- putting up a couple of pics featuring same-sex couples -- was studious avoided here?
