I really can't make this shit up. I'm not that twisted. Please note how Barack and all the Obamas have been lightened for palatability.

Make the most of a key moment in history with these beautifully rendered paper dolls featuring Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama, his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters. The elegantly designed set includes a complete wardrobe of authentic outfits worn by the couple on the campaign trail. Features brief biographical notes and a bonus "Election Night Scorecard."

Hey, do you think these paper dolls would lend themselves to spouse-swapping? A pair of scissors is all that's needed.

Mind you, there must be some states left where miscegenation is still banned. We could charge extra there!

1. Implying only Appalachians would be against miscegenation is wrong.

2. Anti-miscegenation laws in the US were eliminated in 1967 and affected the entire US, but we all know states have real and social laws that supersede federal laws.

3. This was supposed to be a silly / scary thread! Enough with the serious already!

The John McCain clothes need work. If he's going to carry keys for all of his houses, he's going to need bigger pockets.

Sorry, bcg, but the innuendo on Obama makes it only "half silly".

And if little girls are cutting out paper dolls of the major political figures in their parents' lives, it's maybe one up on GI Joe or whoever is the latest blowemup figure appearing in toy stores.

Ralph Nader would look out of place. Don't know just what paper dolls would be politically correct these days.

George, its rather off the thread topic but I was intrigued by the book you mentioned, "Deer Hunting with Jesus: Dispatches from America's Class War", particularly the part I've rendered in bold. The reviews on the usual online booksellers are interesting but of those I read none really addressed what this book has to do with America's class war, I wondered if you could elaborate on this a little for me; is this book worth reading for insight into class war in America specifically?

Only read a review on it m'self, D, and I was about to phone my favourite library, this morning, to see if they have it in mind.

Even mention of a class war is "exciting", but maybe it was added to the title just to sell the thing? Anyway, I had not read of the author before this, and interested.

The library has it, D. Will post something in book lounge in a few days (or earlier if critical).
