Yeah CRA reached 10% over 4 years. It's better than nothing. I am glad it is over for us. I suppose we still have to vote on it. Now I can wait in line to get into the building while my manager escorts us one by one. Haha. Good luck Table Two. You guys will get an agreement real soon.

I meant table one. Ooops. So today, there were about 750 + employees standing outside in the rain. The sidewalk laced with umbrellas. Ever five minutes, a manager would escort an employee across the line. By 12:00pm, I was getting hungry and wondering if I was allowed to go for lunch. There were still about 500 of us standing in line waiting to get in. At 12:20, they started to let people in quicker. I was in by 12:25. Cold, wet and hungry. Ready to go to work. I am not sure what to wish for tomorrow... Hope you guys get your deal!

Thanks! In Halifax at the Dominion Building where we work for Public Works and Government Services the 100 or so people in PIPS or excluded or, (gasp) wanting to cross their own picket line wait in an indoor mall Scotia Square, sipping lattes and reading newspapers. We let through around 5 every 30 minutes, increasing this number slightly as the day went on. We had the line up at 5am! There were two early birds there; one is built like a fridge and has the attitude of a bull. No one would attempt to push past him. Not sure how the other guy made out. The management reps are very respectful of the line. It's mostly mutual. We are all professionals and we tend to work well together for the most part. There's almost no animosity. I truly don't understand the very few who feel they need to cross their own line. It's not about the money as far as I know. Those folks will be remembered in the months to come. The weather was beautiful today, luckily. If we are out tommorrow it will be cold and wet but at least folks can dress appropriately. Cheers!
