Tension high as Lakeside workers return
Animosity festers after settlement
Animosity among workers at Lakeside Packers is expected to continue today as strikers return to the slaughterhouse after a three-week walkout.
The bitter dispute created deep divisions among workers who will be inside the Brooks-area plant together today for the first time since the strike began on Oct. 12.
"There's a lot of upset people. I've got a few people who owe me an apology," said Ronan Moen, a member of the anti-union group Concerned Lakeside Employees for Everyone's Rights.

Moen said many Lakeside employees plan to stay home today, refusing to work with pickets who threatened them and their families. "It's gonna take a long time," Moen said.
