Al-Anbar Province.
Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance mounts rocket, mortar barrage on US al-Warrar camp west
of ar-Ramadi Sunday night.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance
fighters had fired a rocket and mortar barrage at the US al-Warrar
base located west of the city of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of
Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses who
live near the American al-Warrar base as saying that the barrage set
a raging fire burning in the base with flames reaching high into the
sky. The sound of violent explosion s shook the camp after the
rockets and mortars had blasted in.

US warplanes then struck areas from which they believed the rockets
and mortar shells had been fired.

Due to the late hour and the curfew that was in force, the
correspondent was unable to obtain any more detailed information on
casualties from the Resistance barrage or the US counter attacks.

Resistance fighters knock out US minesweeper in ar-Ramadi Sunday
evening.

In a dispatch posted at 8pm Makkah time Sunday evening, Mafkarat al-
Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance fighters
had destroyed a giant American mine sweeper vehicle in the middle of
ar-Ramadi.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that
Resistance fighters assaulted a mine sweeper with shoulder-launched
RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades as the vehicle was on its way to the
western part of the city to disarm a bomb. Four rocket-propelled
grenades struck the minesweeper, completely destroying it.

The correspondent reported that the vehicle was still on fire at the
time of reporting and that the Resistance fighters had been able to
withdraw from the area after their attack, having suffered no
casualties in their own ranks.

Al-Fallujah.

US, puppet forces withdraw from western and southern al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon,

puppet army allies had withdrawn from areas in western and southern
al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in as-
Saqlawiyah, northwest of al-Fallujah, and in `Amiriyat al-Fallujah,
southwest of the city as saying that the Americans and their puppet
troops completely withdrew from their posts and headquarters in the
western and southern areas of al-Fallujah. The American pullout was
apparently the result of numerous fierce attacks by Iraqi Resistance
on the US forces in those districts.

It was not clear, the correspondent reported, whether the withdrawal
was to be permanent or whether they would simply find new posts and
headquarters in the districts.

Baghdad.

Hand of US occupation seen behind restaurant bombing in al-Karradah,
Baghdad, that leaves 14 civilians dead.

In a dispatch posted at 7pm Makkah time Sunday evening, Mafkarat al-

explosives-packed car that had been parked by the side of the main
road near the popular Safwan Restaurant blew up, killing 14
civilians and injuring 17 others. The explosion also damaged the
restaurant and neighboring shops and stores.

Mafkarat al-Islam noted that Iraqi Resistance Groups and other Iraqi
organizations had confirmed that the US occupation was involved in
setting off car bombs targeting Iraqi civilians in an attempt to
smear the image of the Iraqi Resistance and incite sectarian
violence as Washington pursues a course of splitting Iraq along
sectarian and ethnic lines.

Ibrahim ash-Shamari, a spokesman for the Islamic Army in Iraq, one
of the prominent Resistance groups told al-Jazeera satellite TV in
March that "there is information showing that many of the car
bombings are the work of the American occupation attempting to sully
the reputation of the Resistance to try to get the Iraqi people to
repudiate it."
