If martial law were enacted here at home, like depicted in the movie "The Siege", easing public fears and quelling dissent would be critical. And that's exactly what the 'Clergy Response Team' helped accomplish in the wake of Katrina.

Dr. Durell Tuberville serves as chaplain for the Shreveport Fire Department and the Caddo Sheriff's Office. Tuberville said of the clergy team's mission, "the primary thing that we say to anybody is, 'let's cooperate and get this thing over with and then we'll settle the differences once the crisis is over.'"

Such clergy response teams would walk a tight-rope during martial law between the demands of the government on the one side, versus the wishes of the public on the other. "In a lot of cases, these clergy would already be known in the neighborhoods in which they're helping to diffuse that situation," assured Sandy Davis. He serves as the director of the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

For the clergy team, one of the biggest tools that they will have in helping calm the public down or to obey the law is the bible itself, specifically Romans 13. Dr. Tuberville elaborated, "because the government's established by the Lord, you know. And, that's what we believe in the Christian faith. That's what's stated in the scripture."

Is anyone else concerned that the concept of martial law is being normalized with this sort of sappy reporting?

I saw that report as well and forgot to post it here. Does anyone really need any more proof that the American government is looking ahead to some kind of major clampdown on civil liberties? The signs down here are all over the place. This is actually a smart move since so many Americans are (1) predisposed to follow authority, any authority and (2) more inclined to follow orders if the authority comes from "God."

I remember when I used to be on the radio and said that if there is ever martial law in the USA the first minister who came at me with Romans 13 on his lips would get his answer back in lead. No wonder I'm not on the radio anymore and if that strikes some here as a bit harsh, well, fascism is one time when my progressive gloves come off big time. Like Woody Allen once said in one of his movies where his friends were saying biting sarcasm was the best way to answer neo-nazis, Woody kept saying 'no, I think a punch in the face is the best way.'

Even Paul Craig Roberts, a former Reagan undersecretary smells a false flag operation in the wind. It gets scarier here by the day. Its like we're all just waiting for that shoe to drop.

I apologize if this sounds like raving. But seriously, you'd have to be clued in to what is coming down here. I'm really worried.

Me too. It was why I asked the question. One role of the so-called "free press" is to soften up the public for unpleasant realities. They do through mundane little pieces like the one posted as though the concept of martial law is not foreign, frightening, and counter to everything Americans tell themselves they believe.
