Looks like M$ is ditching the Mac version of their Media Player...just after ditching support on the Mac for I.E.

As though any Mac user would want to use IE or WMP in the first place...

I can usually get WMP streams to work with either Xine or MPlayer under Linux.

Actually I tend to have a harder time with Quicktime formats.
