"Israel (who had thus far stayed out of the fray by letting the U.S. military do the heavy lifting) is attacked by Hezbollah in a coordinated and large scale effort. Widespread and grisly casualties effectively paralyze the nation, a notion once thought impossible. Iran’s newest ally in the region, Syria, then unleashes a barrage of over 200 Scud B, C and D missiles at Israel, each armed with VX gas. Since all of Israel is within range of these Russian built weapons, Haifa, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and virtually all major civilian centers and several military bases are struck, often with a result of massive casualties."Way off base. There's no way for Hezbollah to actually invade Israel, they are after all primarily a defensive force. They can launch small missiles into the very north of Israel but it's doubtful that would paralyze the country. And it's also unlikely that Syria would sign its own death warrant by launching WMDs into Israeli civilian centers. But even if they decided to do that what's to stop Israel from knocking out Syria's air defences in a first-strike operation and then going after the SCUD sites? Iran is a diferent story though and the US would have a real fight on its hands if they restrict themselves to using only conventional weapons. The easiest way to defeat them would be to detonate an EMP device over the country then go in and take out the nuclear sites. Pretty sure someone in the Pentagon has thought of this already.
