Have you seen any trailers for it? It looks pretty good. I'll head out I'm sure, but probably not opening night....

If you haven't seen it, the trailer is available here (if you have quicktime):

Better than the trailers...I've seen about 10-15 minutes of clips of the movie! (Just like everyone else who showed up at Con Hall to see Michael Moore speak when he was on his "stupid white men" book tour.) It looks to be classic, an examination of gun culture in the US. Can't wait!

Spinsanity, I think, has earned a respectable reputation as an equal opportunity fact checker. Michael Moore is the subject of today’s piece.
quote:
Like many of the political celebrities increasingly filling our TV screens and bookstores, he is entertaining, explicitly partisan, and all too willing to twist facts to promote himself and his vision of the truth.
Humm. If you add radio, who does that sound like?
quote:
They could use a better spokesman.
That is, I guess, if not reducing yourself, your reputation (and attendant credibility) to the depraved depths of your ideological adversary is of any concern.

I think discipline begets credibility. And while attacking the opponent is more fun, spanking a family member is often more necessary for that reason. But then, I’m kinda a spanking kinda guy, so I’m probably wrong.

The Spinsanity article writer repeats several times that Moore "claims" this and "claims" that in the movie. That isn't true.

Moore suggests, prods and asks a lot of things in Bowling For Columbine, but he rarely absolutely states that one thing necessarily leads to another. Some of the other criticisms had nothing to do with innacuracy, and a lot of the so-called "contradictions" weren't contradictions at all.

Spinsanity? I guess it takes one to know one, because that writer certainly knew how to use spin and distortion to promote his agenda.
