I shudder to think of the implications for the teenage & young adult crowd living in towns where the only pharmacist refuses to sell the pill.
I really don't understand the staunch opposition to birth control. Any idiot with half a brain can see that having kids at the wrong time can ruin the lives of a lot of people, primarily the child's. Besides, the last thing this planet needs is higher birth rates.

Unfortunately, the half-brained idiots in question tend to believe that, if you're not married, abstinence is the be-all and end-all, and if you are, sex is for procreation.

Why can't people understand that sex is nothing more than a physical need that most of us have following puberty... kinda like needing to eat.
Abstinence is a non-starter as far a most people are concerned. Maybe it's time for all the social conservatives out there to start acknowledging reality and dealing with it.

Well, it's the land of the lawsuit--family planning groups should help some people sue.

I thought health care professionals took some oath to do no harm. This all sounds like doing harm to me.
One can only hope they are still dispensing condoms.

When I was in the States back in May, I noticed that in some grocery stores, condoms are locked up behind teh counters in teh case nect to the cigarettes.
Booze, on the other hand, was kept out in the open.

Well it makes some sense doesn't it. A smoke after sex is always appropriate.
But then, of course, we have to wonder about the booze being so out in the open. From personal experience that can cause alot of problems where sex is concerned.
