Does Paul Martin know what his own government is doing? As Canadian rights activists lamented the deportation of Falun Gong practitioner Xiaoping Hu to Communist China – and try desperately to keep Canada’s Immigration Ministry from condemning fellow practitioners Fang Yaobin and Xiong Fengying to the same fate – Prime Minister Paul Martin chose to deny reality: “I can tell you that we are not in the process of deporting Falun Gong practitioners” (Epoch Times). I open the question to our Canadian readers: is Martin completely oblivious to what’s happening, or just a bald-faced liar?

Maybe it's because the Librano's business interests are more important.

False dichotomy. Why can't he be both?

Why do you assume we're pro-Beijing anyways?

Many of us are about as fond of Beijing and the Liberals as we are of Washington and the Tories.

He assumes as much because he's a troll. There's no point arguing with him.

I just assumed you were fond of the liberals because you climbed into bed with the thieving scum.
So why are we giving 50 million a year to China?

What do you mean by that? Does "you" mean the NDP? Does "climbed into bed" mean "made a deal to improve the budget"? And, if supporting a Liberal budget means "climbing into bed with the thieving scum", then why did Stephen Harper climb into bed with the thieving scum?

As you may recall, Harper praised the Liberal budget and was prepared to vote for it, back when version 1.0 was full of corporate tax cuts and relatively devoid of social program spending. In fact, Harper and his merry gang *did* eventually vote for the budget (but voted against the NDP amendments). So what were Harper and the Conservatives doing in bed with "the thieving scum"?

If Layton and the NDP got into bed with the Liberals, then I'm sure that they are grateful to Harper and the Conservatives for keeping their spot warm!
