A friend of mine in Munich wrote me a really scary account of how the Nazis (the current ones) start beating up anti-nazi protestors and don't stop. Combat 18 (named for Adolf's initials) has been involved in many cases of murder, firebombings and beatings of immigrants and asylum. This follows the Munich neo-Nazi group Kameradschaft Sud's plot to blow up the synagogue now under construction, several mosques and other "Undeutsch" targets.

I had no idea the situation was so grim. From the link lagatta provided came these two blood-chilling reports:
The torture-murder of a 16-year-old boy by Neo-Nazis. and the depressing revelation that Nazism permeates the corridors of power in Germany still, in the form of Stille Hilfe . I wonder if this group has ties to North American racists.

Here is some more on the raids on neo-Nazi leaders. Indeed, links have been found between neo-Nazis and elements of the "respectable" right in Bavaria. Moreover, my friend in Munich sent me an article (in German) about antifascists having to pay stiff fines for trying to block a neo-Nazi march, led by the fellow later found with all the bomb-making equipment and weapons in Munich and already involved in several incidents of violence against people of colour and antifascists. A lot of people remain very worried because the Nazi bombs were planned to be set off on Kristallnacht (the 9th of November).

Probably. White Power and Nazi groups tend to be quite well organised, with very sophisticated information/education (if you can call it that) distribution networks for the screed that they love.

For an interesting insider scoop on C18 and other such groups in England by an infiltrating journalist, see a book called Homeland.

Remember that dissemination of hate literature from abroad is exactly what Ernst Zündel is wanted for in Germany. (What is happening with his case anyway?)

Anne Tristan wrote a similar book on her infiltration of the French Front National several years ago, "Au Front". She went behind that party's pretence of respectability...

Here's another article on the growth of the neo-Nazi movement in Germany. Needless to say it is stronger in the disenfranchised former East Germany, where there are a lot of former industrial towns where most people are on the dole, but the recent raids were in widely scattered regions. http://www.time.com/time/europe/magazine/article/0,13005,901030929-488791,00.html

Zundel remains incarcerated in the Don Jail while his security hearing continues. It is closing in on one year now most of it spent in solitary.

His hearing continues next week.

Much as I loathe Zündel and all the racist filth he stands for, I don't think any human being should be held in solitary confinement for a year awaiting a security hearing. I hope this is solved soon one way or another - or he will be amnestied for reasons of advancing age.
