quote: I was crying, and some of the kids saw it. I told them I was sad because I was going away for a little while, and I told them to be good listeners and that I promised to come see them soon. Jasemine started to cry and clung to me, begging me not to go. Michelle physically removed her from me. I told Michelle I was leaving through the front door, I was not going to be snuck out the back door like I had done something wrong. I asked what she would tell my kids’ parents, and she said they’ll “think of something”. Then, she “escorted” me to the front door.Today, I lost my job, 21 of my best friends, and possibly my mind.

Yes she is being wronged and she is losing contact with kids she adored, but there is an upside. She is no longer working for assholes. If I were her I would contact employment standards to see what her status is. I don't think a lawyer makes sense (the dollars are going to be relatively small) but legal advise sure does. Questions that come to my mind immediately are: Nailing down the terms of leaving. ie: she was terminated without cause. This needs to be clarified before they realize the pickle they are potentially in and start reconstructing history. Does she have written clarification of her new position. This is very important. The level of employment will affect both the rate of severance and whether it is possible to ask for money in addition to the legal standards.
