York's largest union could potentially lose a chunk of its members who are dissatisfied by its lack of representation and are ready to separate.

In early November, some members of the union sent communications to The Canadian Union of Public Employment, Local 3903 (CUPE) executives advocating that Unit 2 should separate from Units 1 and 3.

Alex Levant, vice-president of Unit 2, finds the idea of separation absurd.

"Currently, the administration is shifting all of the tutorial work from Unit 2 to Unit 1. They are going to be shifting all of the (Unit 2) tutorial work to these incoming students," Levant said.

The communications to CUPE, regarding this issue, came from a very small number of members of Unit 2.
"I'm not really sure what their intentions are. What concerns me is the fact that they were scabs during the strike, which means that they are probably not pro-union to begin with," Levant said.

And if they are scabs, then they are utterly worthless as human beings.
