I was a little embarased by the behavior of the delegates at the AGM. Granted the SFL position is vastly different than the Sask Party's, but you do not act like 2 year olds to an invited guest to the AGM.Engage in debate and put forth sound reasons why you oppose a position and then provide alternatives backed by facts. That will bring the public on side, but when you act juvenile that hardens the publics position that unions are spoiled little brats and no longer relevant today. Lets be engaging not distancing the public.

Last year at the SFL convention they laughed because they'd invited the Sask Party but the SP didn't send anyone. Ha ha ha! Stupid Sask Party! The SFL's behaviour at their convention this year was disgraceful. You either want the Other Side there or you don't. I can only hope last year's joke doesn't get repeated. At the same time, let's not kid ourselves that having Norris there was any measure of "consultation". This was an opportunity for fucking Rob "I'm even stupider than most people think I am" Norris to lecture those lazy trade unionists about how bad they are for Saskatchewan. (But that being said, the SFL knew that's what it would be.) Anyway. Rob Norris' stupidity and incompetence aside, this showed a singular lack of common sense on the SFL's part.

"Maybe. But it's not as if there wasn't ample provocation"I listened to the presentation on youtube. I must ask: what provocation are you speaking of, or, is the provocation when a invited government minister has the balls to not walk away from his presentation while a bunch of idiots do everything in their power to disrupt his speech. I'm glad that this idiocy was captured on the internet. [ 25 October 2008: Message edited by: Ktown ]

Wow. It was not very smart to invite this guy to the convention. I don't blame the delegates for standing up to that anti-labour crap. But I wonder at the sense of the executive or whoever planned the convention and invited him there to give that speech. If they wanted the Sask Party rep there to hear from the delegates, they should have done it in a different way. I'm not sure how. But probably having him standing up there lecturing the members on why anti-labour legislation is so great was not a fabulous plan. A PR nightmare, for sure. He definitely looked like the victim in that video, even though I personally don't think he was at all. [ 25 October 2008: Message edited by: Michelle ]

It has been SFL custom for some years that the Minister of Labour is invited to speak. The SFL leadership pissed and moaned last year when Norris declined the invitation. Gee. The SaskParty Labour Minister has views that aren`t in accord with the SFL. Quelle surprise. The antics at the convention have handed the PR victory to the SP. This helps the Labour agenda how, exactly?
