Ah, the joys of google bombing.

1) Decide on a search term
2) create many pages with lots of links
2) make the search term on that page point to your target

I'm not sure how a thread about US politics wound up in this forum, but I'm going to move it to the international news forum.

Also, "US politics" really doesn't tell us what the thread is about. Maybe change the name of the thread to something more descriptive of the thread content? Like "miserable failure" or "google trick" or whatever?
