Last weekend Taiwanese activists protested the legislative Yuan delaying on a $11 Billion (USD) arms deal with the US. Strangely enough, these pro-miltiary folks are described as progressive.

China continues to complain, as it steadily jacks up it's own military expenditures through the stratosphere.

The Taiwanese "left" (by which I mean people who are marginally right of our Liberals) is anti-Beijing while the Taiwanese right (by which I mean fascists who jerk off to pictures of Chiang Kai-shek) is pro-Beijing.
