Aha! I knew it. It's those swarthy Mediterranean "steal your wallet types" who are taking all the living wage, public service jobs. But that's ok because private enterprise will eventually prop-up their end of the bargain, right ?. Private enterprise and dregulation will save us from state tyranny.

Yes. I've also read that new immigrants enjoy the highest unemployment rates across Canada. And they tend to be better educated than immigrants used to be. Newly arrived women to Canada will suffer a serious health setback in the first fifteen years of living here, according to the same article I read here on Babble, I think?.

And since we'll be needing and competing with other developed countries for skilled immigrants over the coming years, those are not very good selling points for our somewhat under-developed frozen Puerto Rico of a nation. We've got shortages of doctors, medical technologists and specialists, a stale economy, skyrocketing university tuitions etc. Immigrants from India, China and more are finding out that it's not as easy or as rosy here or the States as they were led to believe.

Oh I see what you're driving at. Now that stuff doesn't happen in Toronto, Calgary or any other city in Canada, no. Carry on.

Of course it does. I just thought you had misunderstood and thought the article referred to immigrants only.
