How can they do that? McCain appears to be leading there (unless you mean the senate race where Warner is significantly ahead of the Republican). He also has a lead in Florida although of course it is very early. Might start drinking heavily right now. [ 04 November 2008: Message edited by: Trevormkidd ]

Florida is definitely too early. Those numbers come from like one or two precincts in a heavily republican areas. [ 04 November 2008: Message edited by: ElizaQ ]

I was noticing in CNN's in-depth results for Florida, at the bottom of the page there seems to be a "ballot measure" in that state, a referendum on a state ban on gay marriage. Talk about GOTV of reactionary wackos in a key state. That's very sneaky. I wonder who got to decide to put that on there?ETA: Elsewhere on the CNN site it says that there are 133 ballot measures in 33 states this election, down from 2004 and 2000. The Wiki "Initiatives" article won't load but a pdf from the USC School of Law on iandrinstitute.org says that not quite half of these direct democracy measures come about as a result of citizen petitions, while the majority are placed on the ballot by legislatures. Anyway, this is not the only ballot issue in Florida this year, and Florida is not by any means the first state to have produced such a ballot. Other states are balloting on abortion access, as a prelude to producing a case to test the court on overturning Roe v Wade. So, I guess, no real evidence of conspiracy there. Jeez, I'm glad we don't have those things though. [ 04 November 2008: Message edited by: triciamarie ]

It's worth noting that all the states called for Obama thus far were Kerry states in 2004. He's going to win, but he's not there yet.Iowa + New Mexico + Colorado does it. Or Virginia + any one of the above. Or Ohio alone. Or Florida alone. etc. (edited to add the link to your one-stop shop on all the network calls) [ 04 November 2008: Message edited by: Sombrero Jack ]

Fox called Ohio for Obama a couple minutes ago. Then retracted that call a couple seconds later. And don't forget North Carolina. If Obama can keep his lead their then that is huge. [ 04 November 2008: Message edited by: Trevormkidd ]

Wolf Blitzer hyped a "major projection" as he threw to commercial just now. I think they're going to call either FL or OH for Obama, and with it, the election.Pollster.com now shows 4 of the networks having called Ohio for Obama. CNN hasn't done so as yet. CNN has now. Potentially New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, NC, Virginia and Utah (edit: oops I meant Nevada, not Utah) on top of Ohio. Not as high an electoral vote as Clinton received, but a higher percent of the vote then Clinton received in both '92 and '96. Probably Obama will actually have the highest vote percentage among Democratic candidates since LBJ in 1964. [ 04 November 2008: Message edited by: Trevormkidd ]

Me too! Though now we've switch to the comedy version of the results with Stewart and Colbert. My Dad keeps saying, well it looks like it's in the bag can I watch Law and Order now and my Mom keeps thwaping him, "no no, this is history, we're watching this...' LoL.

Actually, the US has had two gay presidents: James Buchanan and Abraham Lincoln. They could also bring back some long hairs, and maybe the atheists too. [ 04 November 2008: Message edited by: -=+=- ]

Obama is leadinng in New Mexico, moreover with 9 million new/first time voters registered, I do not think a compare to the results last time dsfa. McCain is starting to catch up and Obama has not moved off of the 207 for a long time now. What is predicted for CA?

Obama with an early (small) lead in Montana. Clinton took it in '92, otherwise it has been Republican for decades. Also for the first time tonight it looks like Obama could take Missouri. [ 04 November 2008: Message edited by: Trevormkidd ]

virginia just calld for ObamaCalifornia will go Dem game set match Interesting is how close actual votes are. While Obama is cleaning up on electoral college his mandate from real people is still small thought he would be a good 8-10 points up

I think he still will be. Lots of votes to come in in blue states. And i think he'll get Missouri, the St Louis polls will be coming in towards the end.

Oh ya, they have about 5 different threads bemoaning the results. And interestingly they are also decrying the fact that now for sure the fight against abortions is over for good. That there will be no hope for them to continue. Reading it almost makes me feel better about Oct 14th! And it gives me hope that Canadians too will weake up! Obama gets Nevada too!!!!!!

Wait for the Democratic vote that will come in late. Missouri didn't get it right in 1956.
